I’ve been in love with yoga from the first time I stepped on a mat. For over two decades I have soaked up every bit of information on yoga and mindfulness that I could get my hands on. My practice has changed over the years to be a more meditative, slower version of yoga that pays closer attention to the details of alignment and how the body reacts to each pose. I have also been a massage therapist since 2000 and I have used yoga as therapy for my clients to help them take control over their pain and improve their well-being. I am constantly in awe with yoga’s power to change one’s body and mind for the better.
My favorite classes to take and teach are slow hatha yoga and yin or restorative yoga. These types of practice give me a chance to spot misalignments and patterns that students have acquired and make corrections that will amplify what they gain from class. Mindfulness is also a key element in managing stress and focusing on this in a yoga pose is a wonderful way to practice peace in the mind and body so that we are able to bring that peace into our daily lives.
I am certified in yoga and have studied many different types over the years with yoga greats such as Seane Corn, Saul David Raye, Eddie Modestini and Nicki Doane, Paul Grilley, and Desireé Rumbaugh. My classes are a hodgepodge of the knowledge and experiences I have been so privileged to attain and I bring all of it together in the present moment in order to help each student with their individual needs.
My family and I are new to Luxembourg, having arrived in 2018, and we moved here from a small town in Indiana. I am so pleased with the opportunity to teach in this beautiful city and I look forward to passing on the wisdom of yoga to as many as I can.
