Ashtanga Inspired Yoga
Introducing a Dynamic Practice
Beginner - Intermediate

Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic style popularized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (Mysore, India) which connects the breath with a progressive series of postures aimed at strengthening and purifying the body as well as calming the mind. The most commonly practiced series are the primary and the intermediary series respectively known as “yoga therapy” and “nerve cleansing." All 'Ashtanga Inspired' classes will inculde: breathing, bandhas (locks), gaze, sun salutations, standing and seated postures (forward bends, back bends, twists, balancing postures, and inversions. Besides the postures (asanas) and breathing (pranayama), it addresses ethical disciplines (yamas) and self observations (niyamas) which are part of the eight (ashta) limbs (anga) of yoga.
