Yoga for children stimulates their attention and can create a sense of relaxation and serenity. Gathered around in a circle, the little yogis become more focused and learn to become aware of their breathing, develop self-confidence, and discover their true nature. Kids yoga is a great way to teach healthy living and cultivate a happy lifestyle in a fun and playful way.

The practice starts with a few minutes of discussion to promote exchange and share experience. this is followed by a warm up with the movements such as dancing around in a circle or playing games. then, by telling a yoga story of tale we imitate animals and objects by doing yoga postures and have some fun and creative time. We finish off with a moment of relaxation inviting the little ones to a well deserved period of calmness.

Yoga is a gem for tweens (8-12 years old) especially during this phase when they bridge between childhood and adolescence. Not a child anymore and not yet an adult, the yoga class move gently towards a more adult style of yoga.

Yoga helps them understand what is going on, giving them time to step back from their everyday routines, and it helps them in they way they see their bodies and themselves in the context of their new reality. The saturday yoga class for tweens is the perfect time in the week for them to pause and find peace, recharge and be themselves.

The postures help to create a stronger and healthier body and aid the feeling of relaxation, making it easier to sleep better and be more energetic. Yoga also helps them feel more secure. The relaxation during the class helps them to apply this relaxation at school and at home, with their peers and family, and in their everyday life.

They will learn relaxation exercises that they can use for example during a speech at school or before an exam, when there might be feelings of stress and being overwhelmed. This will also improve concentration and it creates confidence which helps to develop a positive self-image.

The class starts with a group discussion (e.g. a topic, an issue from their daily life ...) before moving to yoga postures (sun salutations, warriors, standing poses, twists, backbends...) and will also include breathing practice, meditation and deep relaxation.
