relearn to breathe

"Bringing stillness to the whirlpools in your mind."

Relearning how to breathe has several physical and psychological benefits. Breathing will exercise your diaphragm, intercostal muscles and increase lung capacity. When blood and oxygen flow to the brain and body will feel renewed. Increased oxygen flow allows relaxation which automatically happens when we breath well helping us to “let go” feel mentally clear.

Breathing techniques (pranayama) and the practice of controlling the breath, lies at the heart of yoga. It has the power to soothe and revitalize a body, a spirit, and mind. The ancient sages believed that the vital force circulating through us (prana), can be cultivated and channeled through certain breathing techniques. Practicing breathing will calm, rejuvenate and uplift the mind. Regular practice will aid your asana practice (yoga postures) and meditation, using the breath as a link to establish a connection between the body and the mind.
